President Cyril Ramaphosa announced last week that he will gradually be phasing the lockdown out as from 1 May. Consequently, MasterDrive has already initiated plans to continue working within the new restrictions.
As providers of a professional service, MasterDrive is embracing the opportunity to resume training from 4 May 2020. The managing director of MasterDrive, Eugene Herbert, explains: “To ensure that we continue playing our role in flattening the curve, we have taken stringent measures to ensure that we do this responsibly and within the regulations put in place under the State of Disaster.”
The first way in which MasterDrive will make changes is in the number of employees that will be at the office. “As only a third of office staff are allowed to return, only essential staff will be working from the office. The rest have already been equipped to work from their homes and will continue to do so until the government advises otherwise.”
MasterDrive will continue with the social distancing and hygiene processes started before the lockdown. “We are fortunate enough to have enough space to practice social distancing within the office.
“Along with the measures we implemented following the diagnosis of the first case of COVID-19 in South Africa, we will ensure that the office is properly sanitised and clean to maintain a safe and healthy working environment for all. Sanitisation of hands and screening of employees and guests will also be conducted upon entrance.”
Training
This will continue in various formats so that clients can choose the option that best suits their company policy and personal safety. “Interpersonal training will begin again, however, the number of people in each training room will be reduced to meet social distancing guidelines. The lecture rooms will be arranged to ensure that there is sufficient space between each person (this is based on the guidelines advised by the World Health Organisation). There will also be a reduction in the minimum number of candidates required in order for training to take place at the client’s premises.
“MasterDrive will continue offering virtual training to those that do not feel comfortable returning to a normal training environment just yet or are unable to. For the practical session – in order to acquire a certificate of competency – additional measures have been put in place to protect the health and safety of individuals, such as the supply of PPE.”
Sales
The MasterDrive sales team will work remotely most days. “They will, however, still be available for clients who would like to meet. This will be either through the use of conferencing apps or in person if required.
“All additional measures have been put in place with the aim to protect the health and safety of individuals. Our priority is to ensure that everyone feels safe and comfortable during this time. We embrace the change that this challenge is creating and look forward to working with you soon. For us, this is another MasterDrive adventure,” says Herbert.
