Entries for the 2024 Fleet Safety Awards were meant to close last week but the closing date is extended until 25 September 2024 following high demand for an extension. Take advantage of this extension and submit your entry to win your share of R200 000 in prizes.
The CEO of MasterDrive, Eugene Herbert, says each year the number of entries has doubled and this year entries are well on their way to being four times higher than the first year. “With another enthusiastic response to the Awards, we gladly extended the deadline to accommodate those yet to complete their entries.
“The focus of the Awards is to showcase the fleet safety strategy of organisations setting an example in road safety. Consequently, if there is need for more time to enter, we do not want to hamper that. The more individuals and organisations that are proud of their achievement in reducing crash and fatality rates, the better it is for the future of road safety for South Africa as a whole.”
In addition to recognition for playing a role in reducing road crash and fatality rates, winners can receive financial rewards. “The prizes increased from R100 000 last year to R200 000 in prizes this year.
“There is an increase in cash prizes awarded to overall winners. Additionally, a cash prize will be added to the winner of the Best Organisation. This will be donated to a charitable organisation, within the industry, of the winner’s choice. These cash prizes can have a significant impact on the lives of recipients and simultaneously serve as motivation to emulate the example set.”
Another addition to this year’s Awards acknowledged bus organisations in association with the South African Bus Operators Association (SABOA). “These recognise leaders of road safety promotion in the bus industry and all effort will bemade to accept as many entries as possible.
“There are three Awards within this category: the SABOA Best Fleet Manager for an outstanding fleet manager commitment to road safety; SABOA Best operator competing for Road Warrior for an operator who is a role model in the industry and the SABOA Best Organisation for companies that promote and implement road safety practices.”
An extension is positive for all involved in the Awards. “It provides an opportunity for every organisation invested in road safety to demonstrate their commitment in this one-of-a-kind Awards ceremony in Africa. We urge you to submit your entry soon to give yourself as much time as possible to showcase your dedication to road safety.
“MasterDrive is proud to see the growth of the competition over the last three years. Yet, we know that this growth is not yet complete. With the growing demand to enter the running, an extension provides the opportunity to do this,” says Herbert.
