April 17, 2026 by Samantha Greathead

Geely Auto continues to expand its global electrification strategy with the introduction of the Geely E2, a compact all-electric hatchback designed to redefine expectations in the premium entry-level EV segment.

Developed for modern urban mobility, the E2 combines compact dimensions with intelligent technology, impressive driving range, and advanced safety features. The model reflects Geely’s commitment to making electric mobility more accessible, while delivering the practicality and connectivity today’s drivers expect.

In South Africa, the Geely E2 will be offered in two specification grades: Aspire and the range-topping Apex, both designed to deliver strong value and everyday usability.

As Jateen Daya, Geely Auto South Africa’s Head of Product, explains, “The E2 represents a new approach to accessible electric mobility. It delivers the space, technology, design and everyday usability expected from a sophisticated hatchback, combined with the benefits of an electric powertrain at an accessible price point. This philosophy is reflected in Geely’s brand direction, ‘Drive the wonder’.”

Design and exterior

The Geely E2 features a modern, youthful design that reflects its role as a next-generation urban EV. Clean surfacing, compact proportions and distinctive lighting signatures create a balance between practicality and contemporary styling.

At the rear, distinctive LED lighting and a wide tailgate enhance both visual presence and practicality, while an integrated roof spoiler improves aerodynamics.

The Aspire model rides on 15-inch steel wheels with aero covers, while the Apex features 16-inch alloy wheels, two-tone paint, rear privacy glass, and chrome detailing.
