Further licence extension

 

Following level five lockdown, the validity period of car and driving licences were extended to give motorists adequate time to for renewals afterwards. Following the extended lockdown strategy, another extension has been given to motorists and companies.

 

The extension will be applied to the completion of defensive driving at MasterDrive. Anyone who is completing their advanced roadcraft training with a licence that expired during the below timeframes, can still undertake the training with the expired licence, as long as it falls into the specified grace period.

 

The extensions are as follows:

  1. All learners’ licences, driving licence cards, temporary driving licences and professional driving permits that expire during the period that commenced from the 26 March 2020 up to and including 31 August 2020 are deemed to be valid and their validity period is extended for a further grace period ending on 31 January 2021.

 

  1. All motor vehicle licence disks, temporary permits and roadworthy certificates that expire during the period that commenced from the 26 March 2020 up to and including 31 May 2020 are deemed to be valid and their validity period is extended for a further grace period ending on the 31 August 2020.

 

  1. Motor trade number licences that expire during the period that commenced from the 26 March 2020 up to and including 31 May 2020 are deemed to be valid and are extended for a further grace period ending on the 30 November 2020.

 

MasterDrive assures all clients whose licences have expired during the above timeframes that the extension will apply when completing their training. Do not let your training or recertification fall behind because you were unable to renew a licence during the various stages of lockdown.
