New Renault Captur

New Renault Captur
December 15, 2025 by MasterTorque

More than 10 years ago, Renault broke the codes of the B segment by infusing the Renault Captur model with the DNA of the ‘voiture à vivre’ (car for living). This vision is expressed by maximum comfort levels: a high driving position, a liveable interior that can be adapted to suit the lives of the driver and passengers. All this while remaining compact.

Building on its success, with over 2 million vehicles sold globally, Captur continues to stand out from the crowd. It is even more in tune with the times, with a new, more assertive design, a spirited 1.3L Turbo petrol engine, and OpenR Link infotainment system.

New Captur maintains its versatility, two-tone body colours and generous interior space, along with a range of ingenious high-tech equipment. Alongside these qualities, new- generation Captur gains a range of new features. More expressive inside and out, the styling delivers a unique twist of elegance and sporting spirit with the new Esprit Alpine finish.

The Renault Captur is entrenched in the local vehicle landscape since 2015, with dominance in the B-SUV segment at the time. Come 2025, the vehicle industry evolved somewhat, but so has the new Captur model, offering:

  • Renewed Exterior Design

The updated bold athletic design is complemented by the new brand identity and redesigned grille. It enhances lighting, a chiselled and sculpted hood, a new front and rear bumper and skid plates, together with new 18” and 19” alloy wheel designs.

  • Premium Interior

The iconic Captur’s functional features are still available as standard, with several additions, such as the manoeuvrability of the rear bench seat, which slides up to 16cm for greater practicality.

  • Augmented technology

The new Renault Captur offers a host of advanced technological features. The instrument cluster display is updated with advanced visual design while the infotainment system presents a 10.4” touchscreen across all trim levels, with onscreen capacitive buttons for heated seats on the top trim level and automatic air conditioning with piano buttons for climate control.

  • Sustainability focus

Renault has in recent years increasingly embedded sustainability into the design of new models. Hence, the increased use of recycled and sustainable materials in the interior of the new Captur, central to this strategy.

  • Esprit Alpine trim level

The top-tier Esprit Alpine, designed to infuse a sportier, more premium, and technologically advanced feel, drawing inspiration from Renault’s performance arm, Alpine. The remarkable Renault Esprit Alpine is a unique blend of elegance and sportiness, with the best driving experience and equipment level within the Captur range.

  • Driving dynamics

The multi-sense driving modes synonymous with the Captur are revised and re-energised for an optimal driving experience. The three trim levels available are powered by a lively petrol 1.3L turbo EDC, which delivers 113 kW of power and 270 Nm of torque, while fuel efficiency is delivered at 6.6L/ 100km.

  • Safety

New Captur offers a high level of active and passive safety features onboard.

Exterior design

Showcased by the new Urban Grey bodywork and Esprit Alpine trim, New Captur takes on a more athletic look with premium styling. The front end takes pride of place in the new design with a play on light and material. Featuring a new light signature and two-tone bodywork, the New Captur is even more visually appealing.

The new front end takes on a more elegant and technological look, with the new brand identity built into the multi-faceted grille, and a higher, more horizontal bonnet. All these details underline the stronger identity of the new Captur.

The upper part of the grille produces a play of light with its shapes and the contrast between the dark glossy background and the transparent inserts. It creates a fascinating visual effect.

For engine cooling, the front end features a horizontal air intake above the aerodynamic splitter, with another in the bumper. Two air inlets positioned on either side of the front end, next to the daytime running lights, contribute to aerodynamics and the cooling of the front brakes.

This sophisticated new design contributes to the more upmarket feel of the new Captur.

The new front lights feature full LED technology as standard on all trim levels. The LED daytime running lights take on a vertical half-diamond shape, inspired by the brand logo. The headlights come to life in a new welcome sequence when the doors are unlocked remotely, creating a pleasant effect.

The rear light housing is now transparent, revealing the inside of the lamps. Combined with the new logo and redesigned diffuser, this feature gives the rear end a more current look with a higher level of quality.

The Techno trim features 17-inch alloy wheels with a matte black paint trim on the lower body and beltline, long, black front and rear skid plates.

The higher Iconic trim features all-new 18-inch Black Hole alloy wheels and a High Gloss Black paint trim on the lower body and beltline.  And the new Esprit Alpine trim is immediately identifiable, with its ice black logos, high gloss black window surrounds, 19-inch Elixir wheels with a mesmerising design, aerodynamic splitter, and front and rear skid plates with Slate Grey matte paintwork.

The Renault Captur is available in five attractive colours, which include Arctic White, Flame Red, Iron Blue, Oyster Grey, and the newly introduced Urban Grey.

Interior design and technology

The more upmarket style of the outside is also visible on the inside. With new upholstery on all trim levels, the Captur gains a more premium look and feel. The new Captur features a wealth of standard equipment, while the new Esprit Alpine finish offers a sporty interior ambience.

The Captur gains the OpenR Link multimedia system. It includes the best of onboard technology with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

In the centre of the main console, the new 10.4-inch vertical touchscreen lets users take full advantage of exclusive interactive control. OpenR Link makes every journey easier. Simple to use and hyperconnected, it is as intuitive to use as a smartphone.

The cabin also alludes to the Alpine brand, a symbol of sporting elegance the French way, with the national flag in the side piping, seatbelts with blue topstitching, aluminium-plated sports pedals, branded door sills and an ergonomic steering wheel.

Passenger knee room at the rear is still among the best, at 221mm, thanks to a rear bench seat designed to slide back over 16cm. This ingenious feature has become the hallmark of the new Captur. This allows users to create more space for cargo or passengers as required.

Its cabin includes a total of 24.7 litres of storage space, including a 7-litre glovebox and, depending on the version, map pockets on the backs of the front seats.

The new Captur’s boot is modular in design and offers remarkable boot capacity, with a maximum volume of 616 litres when the rear bench seat is pushed fully forward, a gain of 132 litres. With the rear seats folded (2/3-1/3 split), the load length is 1.57m, offering outstanding volume of 1596 litres.

In the new Captur, all the upholstery includes recycled fabrics selected for their small carbon footprint, without compromising on quality, feel or comfort. The Esprit Alpine finish includes over 26% recycled and recyclable fabrics in its upholstery, using bio-sourced materials such as grained cover material and hemp.

Multi-energy engines

With a range of modern, efficient powertrains, New Captur is equally at home in the city, on the highway, or on countryside roads.

Under the bonnet, the Captur range is powered by a 1.3L Turbo Petrol engine with 113 kW and 270 Nm of torque, a 4-cylinder engine paired with an Efficient Dual-Clutch transmission (EDC).

Several driving modes are accessible on the steering wheel. This MULTI-SENSE, which is available on the Iconic trim level, includes four driving modes: Eco, Sport, Comfort and Perso. The driving sensations (steering effort, engine response, agility of the chassis) change for each mode, as does the colour of the ambient lighting and dashboard display.

Safety

With the Human First Program launched in 2023, Renault restated its commitment to improving safety for drivers, passengers, and other road users through a range of technological advancements.

Predictive Eco Driving Advice helps drivers to reduce fuel consumption and drive safely. Real-time recommendations and a driving score (from 0 to 100 scale) encourage drivers to maintain their speed, consumption, and to be more vigilant and attentive. A monthly summary of each journey is available in the form of a report, detailing consumption and the distance travelled, and recommendations on how to improve your driving to get the best out of the vehicle.

Intelligent speed assistance
A button on the steering wheel activates the speed limiter and cruise control features.

Other driving aids include:

  • Bind Spot Warning (BSW)
  • Hill Start Assist (HSA)
  • 360° parking sensors.

Range Details

The Captur model range offers complete peace of mind with a standard 5-year/150 000km mechanical warranty and a 3-year/45 000km service plan.
