South Africa recently relaxed the majority of coronavirus restrictions including the removal of mask wearing regulation. MasterDrive would like to assure their clients that we will respect the desire to no longer wear a mask and pay the same respect to those who do prefer it.
The CEO of MasterDrive, Eugene Herbert, says the organisation is assuring clients and their employees that instructors and team members will have PPE available should a candidate feel more comfortable wearing such. “While it is no longer mandatory to wear a mask, MasterDrive is aware that COVID-19 still remains a challenge – as an increase in positive cases of a new variant show in other parts of the world – that should not be taken lightly. Our instructors will confirm if your candidate is comfortable proceeding without a mask and if they are ++not, they will gladly wear a mask.
“Additionally, should employees show cold or flu-like symptoms, we will continue to reduce the risk to others as far as possible. MasterDrive will also continue our internal policy of ensuring instructors have everything possible at their disposal to increase their immunity where possible.”
Other practices that will continue include:
- Continued sanitisation of surfaces
- Continued sanitisation of vehicles
- Availability of hand sanitiser to employees and visitors
- Temperature reading equipment is available to those who wish to take their temperatures
As we are in the middle of winter a time traditionally know for the spread of illness, MasterDrive assures clients that we prioritise your safety both on the road and in our day-to-day interactions. “The northern hemisphere is reporting the emergence of a new strain of COVID-19 named the ninja strain.
“Thus, despite the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions, the discovery of a new strain that is more contagious and dangerous than other strains means all South Africans need to take the relaxation of rules with relief but also with a certain amount of awareness that we still remain vulnerable. We, therefore, commit to respecting the wishes of others and avoiding any unnecessary risks,” says Herbert.
