MasterDrive would like to welcome Castrol as the headline partner to the annual Women with Drive event. This year, MasterDrive will host the event at the first Festival of Motoring since 2019. It will also be the first Women with Drive during Women’s Month. While the event has always been about the empowerment and upliftment of women, it traditionally was hosted during Transport month to recognise ladies thriving and succeeding within that industry.
The CEO of MasterDrive, Eugene Herbert, says the team is excited to welcome Castrol on board and looks forward to all we can achieve together. “Women with Drive started six years ago, largely as an initiative to empower ladies working in a male-dominated industry. We embarked on our initiative to share knowledge, inspiration and provide a source of support for females as they grow and thrive within transport businesses.
“Initially, we hoped the event would become a valued day for the industry each year, yet, even now, we are overwhelmed by the response and excitement the event quickly garnered. It became an essential source of motivation and brought attention to issues affecting the ladies working in the transport industry. We look forward to welcoming Castrol in building this event to even greater heights during one of South Africa’s favoured motoring events.”
The support of an organisation with the calibre that Castrol commands is a strong message of support for what the event has potential to achieve. “Women with Drive began with an audience of approximately 60 ladies and before pandemic restrictions, which was the last event until 2022 that had in-person guests, there were close to 150 ladies attending. This is not to mention a substantial waiting list.
“Now we are partnering with an organisation that acknowledges the importance and value of supporting the empowering ladies within their own organisation and those connected to them. Women with Drive provides all in the industry with a moment to reflect on their own triumphs and others in the industry.
Women with Drive is one of the biggest events on MasterDrive’s calendar and we look forward to it just as much as our guests do. We are particularly excited to support the Guide-Dog Association of South Africa as the purchase of a brick will secure your attendance to the virtual event and a similar entrance will apply at the in-person event.
