Tomorrow, 10 years of Women with Drive will be marked in the 10th edition of: Women with Drive – JIVE. Ahead of the milestone celebration, this is a decade distilled into numbers which provide a strong illustration of its history.
10 Years
It has been 10 years since the first Women with Drive event brought South African women in transport, automotive, logistics, mobility and multiple other industries into one room. CEO of MasterDrive, Eugene Herbert, says the number carries weight beyond the calendar. “Ten years is long enough to prove something is not a trend. It is a community that keeps choosing to show up, and tomorrow is where that will be celebrated for marking its first decade.”
3 Presentations
Each of our speakers will shape the programme with their unique lens on the decade. “Castrol’s Melanie van Straaten will reflect on what a decade of ‘fuelling the journey’ looked like from the inside.
“Santam’s Natalie Mpele speaks to ‘insuring the journeys of the women who have driven this movement forward.’ While Lynn Madeley, founder of High Performance Matters, will host the highly anticipated lifestyle segment with a session on building the confidence to become who you want to be,” says Herbert.

The annual panel discussion will be moderated by Kriya Gangiah and feature five powerful women who represent different corners of the mobility industry. It will be an honest conversation about what shifted over 10 years and what still needs to move.

The first-ever Legacy Awards will be presented for the first time tomorrow. “From the Trailblazer Award to the special Lifetime of Drive Award, each category will honour a different kind of impact, from women who led without a blueprint to those who built entire communities around them,” says Herbert.
1 Alumni tribute
The tribute introduces the voices of alumni back into the room, tracing the community from its earliest days to where it stands now.
1 Original song
Written for this milestone year, the song will close the loop on a theme that carried the event from THRIVE to LIVE to STRIVE to ARRIVE and finally to JIVE.
Numbers are unlikely to portray the true magnitude of Women with Drive and only being a part of it whether in person or virtually will expose you to the significance of it. “The numbers do provide a sense of the scale of what 10 years of consistency looks like.
“Tomorrow, all of it comes together in one afternoon, and every number on that list becomes a moment someone in that room will remember. For a community built on returning, tomorrow is the start of a new decade of drive,” says Herbert.
